Injectable fillers can increase tissue volume (with lip augmentation), mitigate wrinkles, and enhance the overall contour of the skin.

BOTOX Cosmetic

Botox removes or reduces facial lines and wrinkles temporarily. It is a sought-after wrinkle treatment which can effectively correct moderate signs of aging. Botox relaxes overactive facial muscles that contract leading to the formation of lines and wrinkles.

The procedure is typically quick and takes around ten minutes to complete. The results of the treatment sustain from three to six months, and the patient will usually require touchup treatments.

Captique

Cosmetic dermatology has seen the introduction of many innovative products in recent years. Captique is an advanced wrinkle filler injection consisting of non-animal hyaluronic acid (HA).

It offers excellent aesthetic improvements by filling facial lines and smoothing skin. The incidence of negative side effects in lower than with animal-based HA fillers which may cause allergic responses in some individuals.

Juvederm

HA is not only accepted but even preferred, for use in the treatment of wrinkles. But some individuals are allergic to HA products that comprise bovine or avian tissue. Juvederm consists of biosynthesized, non-animal HA.

Therefore, it does not contain allergens that may lead to poor reactions in certain patients. Juvederm is available in many concentrations for the treatment of different lines and wrinkles.

Perlane

Perlane is HA-based dermal filler which can effectively reduce or eliminate aging-related lines and wrinkles. Perlane also offers excellent lip augmentation for fuller lips, unlike some dermal fillers in the market.

Radiesse

Radiesse is an injectable dermal filler that comprises microspheres of calcium and phosphate ions, which are naturally found in the body. Upon being injected into the treated area, thin tissue develops around the microspheres.

This helps fill out wrinkles and create a semi-permanent support structure for the skin. The outcomes may sustain for up to two years or more. However, the patient may require touchup sessions.

Restylane

Restylane contains biodegradable HA. This filler is quite similar to Perlane, but it is used more to mitigate facial wrinkles and contouring than for lip enhancement.

Restylane outcomes can last for around six months. In the world of cosmetic dermatology, Restylane has become a sought-after nonsurgical treatment due to its safety and potential longevity of results.

Sculptra

The brand name of Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA) is Sculptra. This dermal filler is diluted in sterile water and injected underneath the skin. Sculptra does not work like most other dermal fillers.

It is injected into the body where it promotes the production of new collagen. This offers fullness to the skin and fills wrinkles. This treatment is frequently used for patients with facial lipoatrophy (the loss of facial fat). For this reason, Sculptra treatment is also known as the “liquid facelift.”
