Mohs Micrographic Surgery
Mohs surgery is now considered a gold standard for the treatment of skin cancers, particularly basal cell and squamous cell cancers. The advantage with this procedure over other treatment options is that it achieves cancer removal, clear margins, and repair or reconstruction as needed – all in a single appointment with the Mohs surgeon.
Mohs surgery has one of the highest cure rates possible when compared to other treatment options. While other approaches such as excision examine less than one percent of the margins removed, Mohs surgery evaluates almost 100 percent of the tissue borders. This mitigates the likelihood of skin cancer recurrence.
Dr. Nguyen is a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon who will perform the following integrated roles:
