Foam Sclerotherapy Procedure
Foam sclerotherapy is performed in-office and is usually completed within under an hour, depending on the number of veins being treated. During the procedure, a solution is rapidly mixed with a small amount of air, creating a foam. The foam solution is then injected into the vein through a small needle, forcing the vein to close and redirecting blood flow to healthy veins. This treatment is often performed with ultrasound guidance to ensure proper treatment of the problem vein. Some patients may need multiple treatments to achieve results.
