Non-Surgical Wrinkle-Reducing / Remover Skin Treatments

Non-Surgical Wrinkle-Reducing / Remover Skin TreatmentsInjectable anti-aging facial treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers are now a popular part of cosmetic dermatology. During the initial consultation, the dermatologist will determine the patient’s candidacy for an appropriate non-surgical wrinkle-reducing injectable treatment.

Texas Surgical Dermatology, led by board certified dermatologist Dr. Tri H. Nguyen provides a range of skin care procedures to patients in Houston, Katy, Spring, The Woodlands, Texas, and surrounding locations.

Botox

Patients can enjoy smoother, more youthful looking skin for three to six months with Botox injectable treatment. Botox originally received FDA approval in 2002 for the cosmetic reduction of frown lines between the eyebrows and on the forehead.

In 2013 Botox was cleared by the FDA for the cosmetic reduction of crow’s feet in the eye area. Certified treatment providers also administer Botox safely for non-label uses such as reducing lines and wrinkles around the nose base and other facial sites.

Botox is a sought-after cosmetic dermatology procedure by itself for addressing signs of facial aging. In addition, it is used as a complementary treatment with facial plastic surgeries such as brow lift, facelift, or eyelid lift surgery for more complete results.

Juvederm

Juvederm dermal fillers can add instant volume to mitigate the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. It can effectively reduce lines and wrinkles on any facial site such as the nose, mouth, and forehead. This nonsurgical treatment can also soften the appearance of nasolabial folds and acne scars, and enhance the nose and lips.

Juvederm dermal fillers help enhance facial contours as well. It is an FDA-cleared treatment which the patient can undergo in-office without the requirement for general anesthesia or sedation.

At times, Botox and Juvederm are used together to mitigate smile and laugh lines depending on the skin health and the depth of these lines.

Restylane

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is the main ingredient in FDA-approved dermal filler injectable treatment, Restylane. This substance is found naturally in the body and supports the skin while providing it volume and elasticity.

The Restylane injectable treatment will add fullness to the treated facial areas to address facial creases and folds including nasolabial folds which are lines running from the nose to the mouth corners.

This dermal filler has been FDA approved for lip augmentation in patients over 21 years of age. Restylane can also treat the tear trough area beneath the eyes which can give the appearance of dark circles or hollows below the eyes.

Radiesse

Advanced dermal filler treatment Radiesse can address moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. This FDA-cleared filler injectable procedure can reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds. Furthermore, Radiesse can help restore lost volume in the back of the hands.

The Radiesse provider uses a fine needle to inject the gel underneath the skin where it instantly adds fullness to the treated area. Radiesse comprises Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres which are suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. Upon being injected into the skin, Radiesse immediately volumizes the depleted areas.

It also promotes the production of collagen in the treated sites. The body absorbs the Radiesse gel after some time. But the natural collagen is left remaining in the treatment site.
